We are a fun and friendly choir based in Chandler's Ford.  We sing show tunes from a wide variety of musicals, such as Blood Brothers, Chicago, We Will Rock You, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, and Mamma Mia.

We have two choirs, meeting every Wednesday evening and Friday morning during term time. The choir is open to all, regardless of ability, and there is no need to audition.

We have two concerts per year and a quiz night.  The choir attends many community events and we actively support local charities.

Great way to spend 2 hours - chilling and singing with like-minded people and an inspiring teacher with lots of experience! This is my downtime ... and an opportunity to learn to sing a great variety of well know songs. Lots of fun and highly recommended 😃

Show Off Choir not only gives me the excuse to sing my heart out, it's a great place to make/catch up friends and fills me with joy.  Learning new songs is always great too and it has helped broaden my musical horizons.  Carrie gives valuable guidance for the singing and helps provide support!  Singing feels me with joy and doing it with like minded individuals is a blessing!

I love being part of Show Off Choir! Each week you get to learn singing and breathing techniques that benefit your performance, as well as having fun singing musical and pop songs. When the sound comes together after a session, you can feel everyone's confidence soar. The teaching, environment and other members are friendly and relaxed. The members are a range of ages, and everyone is made to feel welcome.

Carrie Laythorpe

Musical Director

Hi there.  Thank you for taking the time to look through the website.  This is the bit where I'm supposed to talk about myself in third person, which I find is a bit silly.

As well as running the choir, I work as a singing & musical theatre teacher.  All of my students are successful in exams, school and local theatre, and passing auditions.  I have my own comedy cabaret night and I am an occasional actor - you probably recognise me from  Britain's Most Evil Killers , right?

I studied at the University of Southampton and gained BA Hons in Music, PGCE in secondary music education, and later at the Open University for a MA in music.

I live in Valley Park with my partner Tom and our dog Coda.
